Income Protection

Sick Leave

Employees receive 10 days per fiscal year up to a maximum of 130 days, or 40 days maximum for bargaining unit members. Sick leave accrues immediately for Administrative Staff. Biweekly employees are eligible to use sick leave after 90 day probationary period.

Short-Term Disability

Employees are eligible after one year of service. After 30 days of disability, plan pays 60% of base salary for up to 5 months.

Shared Leave

Employees are eligible after one year of service. Eligible employees may receive up to 45 days of donated leave time for catastrophic illness/injury.

Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurances

Otterbein pays premiums. Employees are eligible the first month after employment, upon completion of enrollment form. Coverage equals two times annual salary minus special earnings up to $250,000.

Long Term Disability Plan

The long-term disability plan provides financial protection for you by paying a portion of your income while you are disabled. The amount you receive is based on the amount you earned before your disability began. In some cases, you can receive disability payments even if you work while you are disabled. Otterbein pays premiums. Employee is eligible fter one year of service. After 6 months of disability, if eligible, policy pays 60-70% of base salary not to exceed $10,000 per month.
