Student Organizations

Math Club
Students have recently organized a Math Club and are planning a variety of math-related and social activites.

Actuarial Science Club
Central Ohio is a hotbed of Actuarial Science activity due to the number of insurance companies based or located in Columbus, Ohio. The Otterbein University Actuarial Science Club is a student organization that meets periodically to hear speakers from the local Actuarial Science community and to visit local facilities.

Computer Science Club
The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is the world's largest professional organization for computer scientists. Otterbein has a student ACM chapter that meets occasionally for guest speakers and other activities. Several ACM students have attended the national Computer Science Education conference.

Department Activities

Coffee Hour
The mathematical Sciences Department hosts a weekly coffee hour on Fridays in the Math Commons. All are welcome to enjoy coffee and cookies and to try to solve the Problem of the Week.

Fall Pizza Party
Soon after classes begin, department students and faculty gather on the Towers Hall plaza to share pizza and get to know each other.

Spring Picnic
Every spring, department students and faculty gather in a nearby park to honor graduating seniors and student award winners.The picnic and awards are often followed by a spirited faculty-student volleyball game.
