Fall Graduate Symposium: October 2, 2014
Social entrepreneur Elizabeth Lessner, CEO/Founder of the Columbus Food League, will share her insights on restaurants, downtown development, and environmental initiatives at the October 2 Graduate Symposium. The reception opens at 6 p.m. in Fisher Gallery with the presentation at 6:30 p.m. in Roush Hall 114.
Ms. Lessner is actively engaged in green initiatives, downtown development and community affairs. She serves on the board and is past president of the Central Ohio Restaurant Association and was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year by Columbus Underground in 2013.
Lessner’s restaurant concepts include The Surly Girl Saloon, Tip Top Kitchen and Cocktails, Dirty Frank's Hot Dog Palace, The Jury Room, Grass Skirt Tiki Room, Dirty Frank's Westgate, the soon-to-open Franklinton Tap Room and the newly reimagined Chintz Room downtown.
Lessner is also owner/operator of Eartha Limited, a restaurant recycling and hauling company specializing in greening Central Ohio restaurants.
History of the Symposium
The Graduate School Symposium Series provokes new thought, stimulates engaging conversations, and promotes collaborations through talks on varied tops of interest. Topic areas range from education, health care, change management, technology innovations, commerce, creative arts, and social justice. The Graduate School Symposium Series facilitates the exchange of ideas and knowledge among faculty, graduate students, and the public.
Formal question-and-answer sessions allow deeper inquiry into the session topic. An informal reception allows time for private conversation among attendees and with presenters.
