Tan and Cardinal, Otterbein360.com Receive State Awards

Tan & Cardinal, Otterbein360.com Win State Awards
The Tan & Cardinal won first place in Best College Feature Writing for 2012 from Ohio SPJ. Competing against major state schools and daily papers, Mike Cirelli '13 won for his stories on a drum major and Freezone. Competing in the professional division, Kristen Sapp '12 won second place for Best Online Photography for her work for Otterbein360.com.
The Tan & Cardinal and Otterbein360.com also won awards from the Ohio Newspaper Association. Though they will not find out specifics of the awards until the award ceremony in February, the students have won in the following categories: Arts & Entertainment (Laina Thompson and Mike Cirelli), Editorial Writing, Sports Coverage, Design, Headline Writing and Best Website.
Congratulations to these two organizations and their outstanding achievements!
