I am an Environmentalist

Patricia Jimenez

Department: Education

Major: Early Childhood Education

Class: 2011

One hopes that in tomorrow’s world there will be a larger opportunities for actions to improve our communities and our environment. Today’s need for teachers and mentors to shape that future is what motivates Patricia and over the past three years propelled her to coordinate the community service group at Otterbein called Plan-It-Earth. An advocate for environmental efforts, she has attended environmental activism meetings, hosted the first CFL light exchange on campus, and brought Otterbein’s recycling to be recognized as one of the best colleges programs in Ohio for two years in the Recyclemania competition. You can thank Patricia for her leadership in bringing the free rental bikes on campus and the community garden near the Center for Equine Studies. Both hopeful additions to our community.
