Service-Learning

COMM 1900: Mentoring: Theory and Practice
Applying mentoring theory and practices, students mentor children in the University's weekly community service programs, including Ubuntu Mentoring for University Program.

COMM 2500: Public Relations Techniques
Students work in groups or pairs to assist a non-profit organization in developing public relations tools to reach specific objectives determined by the organization.

JAMC4600: Community Journalism Seminar
This course introduces students to a wide range of advanced techniques for reporting, writing and producing multimedia community-based news and feature stories online.

Alumnus Chases His Passion for Baseball Off the Diamond

Robb Stretch

It’s every kid’s dream to make it to the major leagues. The crack of the bat and the fresh-cut grass are callings to young boys and girls around the world. Robb Stretch ’02 and ’12, always knew he wanted a career in baseball. However, Stretch’s dream is not as a player but that of becoming a baseball public relations executive.
