• Camerata

  Camerata is a select ensemble comprised of 40 students, most of whom are music majors and talented non-majors. The ensemble performs vocal music of all style periods.

  Camerata is conducted by Professor Kim Boyd.

• Concert Choir

  The Concert Choir is Otterbein's most select vocal ensemble, comprised of 50 singers, who are primarily music and musical theatre majors. The choir tours each fall and presents at yearly on- and off-campus concerts.

  Recently, the choir has toured to Chicago, New York, Toronto, France, Switzerland, Austria, and the Czech Republic. The choir has sung with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra on numerous occasions, and is regularly invited to perform at professional conferences of the American Choral Directors Association and the Ohio Music Education Association.

  The Concert Choir is under the direction of Dr. Gayle Walker.

  Concert Choir News

  The Otterbein Concert Choir had a busy year in 2010. They performed at the Ohio Music Education Association conference in January of 2010 and toured China in December 2010, with performances at Beijing, Xi’an, and Tianjin. Fifty-seven  Otterbein students went on the tour, which took two years to plan. In June of 2010, Concert Choir released a new CD entitled “Otterbein Sings,” which includes highlights from their 2008-2010 tour repertoire. • Opus One

  Opus One specializes in vocal jazz and popular music styles, from Ellington to the New York Voices and a cappella repertoire.

  Consisting of 16 vocalists, the select ensemble performs concerts on campus, as well as off-campus for community organizations and public schools.

  Opus One often performs with Otterbein's instrumental jazz ensembles.

  Opus One is under the direction of Dr. Gayle Walker.

• Otterbein Vocal Ensemble

  The Otterbein Vocal Ensemble is a select chamber choir that sings vocal repertoire from all historical periods, with special emphasis on early and contemporary music.

  Past performances have included appearances at the Organization of American Kodaly Educators National Conference, the Ohio Choral Director's Association Summer Conference, and the Ohio Music Education Association Professional Conference.

  The Otterbein Vocal Ensemble is under the direction of Kim Boyd.

  Vocal Ensemble News

  Congratulations to the Otterbein Vocal Ensemble on their performance with the Columbus Symphony of “Broadway Rocks,” held March 27 at Veterans Memorial Auditorium.

• Otterbein Singers

  The Otterbein Singers is an SATB choir of approximately 30 Musical Theatre and Acting majors. Repertoire includes classical choral music as well as choral works drawn from operetta and musical theatre repertory. Otterbein Singers performs concerts in the fall and winter quarters, and rehearses three times per week.

  Otterbein Singers is conducted by Dr. Dennis Davenport.

• Women's Chorale

  The Women's Chorale is open to all women on campus from a variety of majors.

  The Chorale performs a mix of repertoire from the various classical-style periods and lighter pieces, as well as great choral masterworks with the combined Concert Choir and the Westerville Symphony.

  The Women's Chorale is conducted by Sheena Phillips.
