Honors & STEM Housing - Mayne Hall
Mayne Hall is home to first year and returning male and female Honors students. Honors housing for women will be located on the first, third and fourth floors with Honors housing for men on the second floor. Honors students will be able to select rooms on the Honors floors with non-Honors roommates.
Special sections of second and third floor are reserved for STEM majors.
Arts Appreciation & Open Space DK - Dunlap-King
Appreciation of the fine arts will be the focus of Dunlap-King Hall. Students from all fine arts majors and minors are encouraged to consider living in DK. RA staff will plan special events throughout the year focusing on the fine arts including attending campus events and painting a mural in the building. DK will be open to both current and new students with men living on ground and first floors and women living on second and third floors. Four triple rooms are available for women on the third floor.
Open Space welcomes students of all genders and sexualities interested in living in a safe, supportive environment. This community will foster a deeper understanding of sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. It will encourage personal development and campus engagement. Residents will be invited to participate in SafeZone training and be connected to relevant gender and sexual diversity resources, including student organizations, an upper-class gender inclusive housing community in another hall (Open Space 25), and campus events.
Students requesting to live in Dunlap-King on their housing request form will receive in invitation to reside on one of the two Open Space floors. If demand overflows the spaces available, additional floors will be added as needed. Students who do not identify as LGBTQ, but are affirming of those who do, are also welcome and encouraged to reside on the Open Space floors. Open Space floors will continue to be single sex (based on the legal sex reported on the housing request form.)
