Bachelor's to MBA Program

The Department of Business, Accounting & Economics offers all Otterbein undergraduates, regardless of major, prior to their Senior year, the ability to accelerate the completion of their Otterbein MBA after earning your undergraduate degree, through the Otterbein Bachelor's to MBA Program. Students are only accepted for admission in the Bachelor's to MBA Program for the Fall term of their Senior year. If you are interested in this program, apply for admission by the end of Spring term of your Junior year.

Admission requirements and timeline

Students should plan on taking the GMAT in the summer after their junior year or early in the fall semester of their senior year and then submit their online application and supplemental materials shortly after taking the GMAT. Students are encouraged to study/prepare for this exam. The Bachelor's to MBA entrance minimum requirements are a GPA of 3.0 and a GMAT score of 500. Students whose GPA or GMAT scores do not meet these minimums will be considered for admission by the MBA Director on a case-by-case basis.

Your Letter of Intent is not a binding agreement. It does, however, allow us to provide you information early on in your educational career to assist you in making an informed decision about your educational goals and options.
Undergraduate preparation

Students admitted to the program must take the prerequisites courses (ACCT 2000, ECON 2100, ECON 2200, and MATH 1240), along with MBA courses (advised by the MBA Program), an MBA Essentials course (for non-business majors only) as an undergraduate student by the end of their senior year.
Professional work experience/internships

Bachelor's to MBA candidates must have 2 years of professional work experience and/or completed an internship as part of the admission requirements. An undergraduate internship can meet this requirement as a substitution, but it must qualify as relevant business experience, and these will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the MBA Program Director.

What is the Otterbein University Bachelor's to MBA Program?

What are the minimum admission requirements?

The minimum entrance requirements are: a GPA of 3.0 in all undergraduate studies, a GMAT score of 500 or better, 2 years of professional work experience or an internship with significant business experience, 2 letters of recommendation, a professional resume, and a personal statement about why you wish to pursue your MBA.
Is the Bachelor's to MBA Program curriculum different from the regular MBA Program?

NO! This is the same MBA program. However, as an Otterbein undergraduate student you are afforded the special opportunity to enter early. You will still be held to the same admission requirements as all Otterbein University MBA students.
When are Bachelor's to MBA students accepted?

Students are only accepted for admission in the Bachelor's to MBA Program for the Fall term of their Senior year. You will need to apply for admission by the end of Spring term of your Junior year.
Are there prerequisite classes I may need?
YES! The MBA Program has prerequisite classes that are required of all MBA students:
1. ACCT 2000 – Financial Accounting
2. ECON 2100 – Principles of Microeconomics
3. ECON 2200 – Principles of Macroeconomics
4. MATH 1240 – Statistics 1 (this also has the prerequisite of MATH 1150 – College Algebra)
5. MBA 5100 – Business Essentials (required for non-business majors only)
All prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of "B" or better. These courses are prerequisites to many of the core courses in the MBA program and require a firm grasp of the content in them.
