Otterbein University alumnus, Sam Ross ’04, and his wife, Meredith Ross, will be featured on HGTV’s House Hunters
on Wednesday, July 2. The episode titled, “Comic Book Fan Wants Nerd Nook in Quaint Westerville, Ohio,” will air at 10 p.m.
According to HGTV’s website, House Hunters takes viewers behind the scenes as individuals, couples and families learn what to look for and decide whether or not a home is meant for them. Focusing on the emotional experience of finding and purchasing a new home, each episode shows the process as buyers search for a home.
House Hunters teases the episode by stating, “After a year of living with her parents, Ohio couple Sam and Meredith are at an impasse on their house hunt. She wants a historic charmer walking distance to shops and restaurants in quaint Westerville, outside Columbus. He's ok with going a little farther outside that tiny radius if it means a bigger and newer home. Sam, an avid comic book collector, also wants a ‘nerd nook’ where he can geek out in private. Armed with a budget of just $320,000 it might take a superhero to sort this one out.”
The couple has been married for more than two years and had been searching for a house since 2011.
“Meredith and I had been trying to move uptown [Westerville] for nearly three years before finally finding our home,” Sam Ross said in an email. “We love the community and everything it has to offer, including Otterbein!”
The Westerville Uptown Merchants Association is hosting viewing parties at Good Vibes Winery, with food by Dough Boys Pizza, and at Jimmy V's in Uptown Westerville. Arrive by 9:30 p.m. at Good Vibes or Jimmy V's so that you can get your drinks and food to be ready when the show starts at 10 p.m. Sam and Meredith Ross will be there, seeing the show for the first time, too!
