I am an Artist
Kelsey is proud of how far she came in during her four years At Otterbein. Combining tenacity with creativity, she managed to earn five of eight art concentrations including painting, photography, printmaking, drawing, and communication design. “Usually students have two maybe three concentrations, but I just couldn’t contain myself and wanted to learn as much as possible during my time here.” She attributes her growth to her teachers in the art department as well as Professors Evelyn Davis and Nicholas Hill who encouraged her as an artist and as a person. As a result, Kelsey found her own unique style, something all artists seek to develop in a competitive and challenging environment. Her senior art show at the end of the year provided her with the chance to display her unique pieces and style. Outside of the studio she fulfilled a dream of traveling to Italy through Otterbein’s integrative studies program and was a leader on the woman’s golf team. She earned three letters, with two-top fifteen finishes. In the future she plans to play in local tour events while pursuing her artistic options.
