Spring Awakening
Overview
This production contains strong sexual material and adult language.
Adapted from the 1892 play by German playwright Frank Wedekind, Spring Awakening celebrates the journey from youth to adulthood with unforgettable power, poignancy, and passion. Growing up in repressive 19th-century Germany, teenagers struggle to cope with the complications and confusions of their sexual awakening. This haunting and provocative rock musical is a powerful fusion of morality, sexuality and rock & roll. Winner of 8 Tony Awards in 2007, including Best Musical.
