Summer Theatre

Otterbein Summer Theatre is moving ONSTAGE
in the Fritsche Theatre at Cowan Hall!

2013 OST Season

Almost, Maine
By: John Cariani
May 30-June 2, June 6-8

On a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almost's residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—
almost—in this delightful midwinter night's dream.

Boeing Boeing
By: Marc Camoletti,
Translated by Beverly Cross and Francis Evans
June 13-16, June 20-23

Otterbein Summer Theatre patrons will remember Mr. Camoletti’s work from the hilarious 2010 production of Don’t Dress for Dinner. In this 1960’s farce, the debonair Bernard, an architect living in Paris, is juggling relationships with three vivacious flight attendants – each of whom believes she is his only girl. All goes well until his friend Robert arrives for a visit, and the airlines decide to change the flight schedules.  Chaos, fun, and slamming doors take off as Bernard’s clever plans unravel. Consider this high-flying fun while your feet are firmly planted on the ground!

Little Shop of Horrors
Book and Lyrics by Howard Ashman, Music by Alan Menken
Based on the film by Roger Corman, Screenplay by Charles Griffith
July 11-14, 18-21 and 25-27

Little Shop of Horrors is the outrageous musical comedy lampooning our fears of aliens, dentists, and romantic rejection! It stars a klutzy florist shop worker who happens upon a fantastical plant whom he is seduced into raising. Feeding the plant leads him and those around him down a path of riches and destruction. This affectionate spoof of a 1950s sci-fi movie has become a highly popular production worldwide. The music is a compilation of early 1960s rock ‘n’ roll, doo-wop and early Motown.
