Are you a budding composer? Our Composition Workshop offers an opportunity to learn essential skills for today’s composer. You will learn how to develop your ideas, write for a variety of instruments, and use the computer to notate and compose music. The daily schedule includes a music theory and aural skills class, individual and group lessons, and special classes in music technology. You will also have the opportunity to try out your ideas with live musicians. The workshop is designed for high school students entering grades 9-12 who have a strong interest in writing music. Extensive experience in composition is not necessary as long as the student has had significant training on a musical instrument or in voice and can read and write musical notation.
Please provide us with an original score in one of the following formats: PDF, Sibelius 6 (or earlier), Finale 2012 (or earlier). Optional: You may attach an MP3 file of a recording of the work. Send to Nick Ross at nross@otterbein.edu.
