Super Sleuths Summer Camp

Student Sleuths Summer CampThis summer camp, will offer rising third and fourth graders with a chance to take on the roles of forensic scientists and criminal investigators solving fictitious crimes. Campers will participate in more than 25 hands on, inquiry-based lessons and experiments correlated with the Ohio Department of Education’s Fourth and Fifth Grade Subject Area Standards.

During this week-long camp, campers will solve two crimes through completing tasks that require them to apply their core knowledge through solving relevant challenges and activities, all the while developing perseverance and tenacity. Campers will provided a window into the careers of forensic scientists and criminal investigators by viewing short accompanying video clips with each lesson, made by the experts at Ohio’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

In addition, this camp will provide campers with many opportunities to develop problem-solving and critical-thinking skills by taking part in daily Maker Space Projects. They will also strengthen their intrapersonal and interpersonal skills through completing team-based challenges and activities that call for learning by trial and error and individual exploration. Campers will walk away from this fun-filled, educational week with a better understanding of the STEAM disciplines and problem solving skills.
