Personal Bio
Dr. Svitana, who joined the Otterbein faculty in 2007, has more than 32 years of experience as a geologist, and over 30 years as a hydrogeologist. He is a professional geologist and a Ohio VAP Certified Environmental Professional and has completed numerous environmental assessments in accordance with the various regulatory structures. Dr. Svitana's diverse professional experience ranges from mineral resource evaluation and environmental impact studies to the assessment and remediation of hazardous waste sites. He is Chair of the Environmental Studies Program at Otterbein University and is responsible for creating Otterbein's outdoor groundwater laboratory where students can gain first-hand experience collecting environmental samples.
