Otterbein University Theatre Presents King Richard III
February 29, 2012
Westerville, OH—Otterbein University Theatre presents William Shakespeare’s King Richard III at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, and 8 p.m. on March 23-24 and 29-31 at the Campus Center Theatre, 100 W. Home St. Tickets cost $15. Call 614-823-1109 or visit www.otterbein.edu/artscene.
The landscape of King Richard III is one of murder, violence, treachery and the struggle for power. In this world we see people make their own history – just as they do today. We become the witness to Richard’s plot to "prove a villain" and gain the throne. It seems that bloody and senseless acts of violence and cold and calculating ambition never go out of style. Richard brings theatricality to his villainy that is so deliciously evil and delightfully droll that it thrills audiences even as they recoil. Otterbein’s production will be directed by Christina Kirk and will feature Guest Equity Artist Robert Behrens in the title role.
Tickets for King Richard III are $15 each and can be reserved by calling the Otterbein University box office at (614) 823-1109. The box office is open 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and one hour prior to performances. Student Rush discounts are available one hour prior to curtain, pending ticket availability. The box office is located in Cowan Hall, 30 S. Grove St., Westerville.
