Local High School Students Win Otterbein University Contest

Westerville, OH—Three central Ohio high school students have been recognized by Otterbein University in the third annual Martin Luther King Jr. Multimedia, Essay and Art Contest. Twenty-seven students participated in the contest.

Local high school students were asked to submit an artistic response to the question, “Thinking on a global or local scale, how can you be the change you want to see in the world or your community?”

The top three entries were as follows:

  • First Place: Collin Fugger, a sophomore at Westerville North High School, for a poem titled Small Acts of Love Bring the Biggest Change
  • Second Place: Emma Shoemaker, a sophomore at Bishop Hartley High School, for an essay titled Be the Change
  • Third place: Emily DiAlbert, a sophomore at Westerville North High School, for a poem titled Watching
