December 3, 2013
Westerville, OH—Otterbein University is known for its commitment to community service. Fall semester ends on Dec. 12 and students are studying hard for their final exams or wrapping up final projects, but they still are finding time to give back to the community.
Here are a few of the projects with participation by Otterbein students:
Nearly Naked Mile Clothing Drive
Wednesday, Dec. 4
Otterbein students will relieve some stress just before exams by running or walking the Nearly Naked Mile at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, starting at the Campus Center. Runners participating in this clothing drive and fun run wear layers of clean clothes that they shed as they complete the run, eventually ending the run in tank tops or t-shirts and shorts. Not only is the event a fun way to relieve some pre-exam stress, but the clothing is donated to the Open Shelter in Columbus. The Nearly Naked Mile is sponsored by Greek Life’s InterFraternity and Panhellenic councils.
Feeding Our Neighbors Food Drive
Now-Friday, Dec. 6
The Otterbein University community is joining together for a campus-wide food drive to benefit the Westerville Area Resource Ministry (WARM).
