< Back to Commencement
The commencement program must go to print before Spring Semester grades have been received in the Registrar's Office. Due to this time constraint, the published names of students receiving Latin honors and the specific honor levels (Cum/Magna/Summa) will be based upon GPA's achieved through J-Term.
3.600 - 3.799 overall GPA for Cum Laude
3.800 - 3.949 overall GPA for Magna Cum Laude
3.950 - 4.000 overall GPA for Summa Cum Laude
Undergraduate students who have achieved a 3.70 grade point average for all courses in the major by the end of J-Term will graduate with Departmental Honors. A list of all recipients will be published in the commencement program. Near the end of Spring Semester, Department Chairpersons will automatically contact all recipients and issue a pin that is to be worn on the left side of the gown at Commencement. Double majors may wear two pins. Pins not picked up from the departments will be available between 10:45 and 11:30 a.m. during the procession line-up near the north doors of Roush Hall (or in the case of rain, in the back of the Clements Center).
