Campus Life

Residence Life

Make our campus your new home.

College isn’t all fun and games—you have to study and sleep, too! So why not do it on campus? Some people say it’s “convenient” to live on campus, but all we know is that you can sleep in a little longer when it’s a short walk to your classes. If that’s not reason enough, read on for more good reasons!

All residence hall rooms accommodate 1-4 people and have Internet and phone connections as well as free basic cable. Every hall has a lounge, computer lab, and on-site laundry facility.

A student's housing agreement is in effect for the academic year  when classes are in session. The housing agreement does not provide accommodations during winter or spring breaks. During those breaks, students may keep their belongings in their room. To find the current cost for housing options, please visit the Business Office website.

Otterbein has the following types of accommodations for students:

Traditional Residence halls
The majority of our Residence Hall rooms are double occupancy, but, each residence hall is unique, and some feature single rooms, triples, and quads. Traditional halls are composed of predominantly first year students and some upperclassmen who choose to live there during housing room selection which occurs during the Spring semester.

Suite-style Residence Halls
Suite-style halls are open to upperclassmen who choose to live there during housing room selection which occurs during the Spring semester.

The Commons Apartments
Junior and senior students may apply to live in these fully furnished apartments with 1 and 1/2 bathrooms and 2 to 4 bedrooms.

Theme Houses
Returning students may apply to live in these residential houses for students who wish to promote their specific theme to the campus community.

Find out more about Otterbein's residence halls with our Virtual Tour or by visiting "Residence Halls & Theme Houses".

Break Housing
Students may request to stay on campus during break periods. If approved, students will be assessed an additional charge and may be required to move to a break housing location. More information about break housing options, including summer housing options, will be made available closer to each break.

To find the current cost for break housing, please visit the Business Office website.
