• How do I place money value on my card?

  You can use your Cardinal Card just like you use a debit card. You may add value to your card at the Business Office or call them at 614-823-1150 with a credit card number. We accept cash, too. You may store up to $100 on the card for vending and laundry. You can store money on the card for bookstore purchases. Again, just talk with the Business Office.
  
  When you use your Cardinal Card to make purchases, the amount is automatically deducted from the stored value in your account.
  
  But remember, if your card is lost or stolen, you will only receive the stored value on the card at the time of notification to the Campus Center Office and the card is deactivated. You will be responsible for any transaction made on your card prior to your notification to the Campus Center Office.

• Where can I use my card on campus?

  • For Copiers/Circulation - The Courtright Memorial Library
  • For Building Access - Clements Rec Center, Residence Halls and other buildings based on need/approval 
  • For Vending - Roush Hall, Residence Halls, Science Building, Towers Hall and Rike Center
  • For Books/School Supplies - The Courtright Memorial Library and the Otterbein Bookstore
  • For Food - Otter Den, Otterbean Cafe, Cardinal's Nest, Roost Express

• How does my card work?

  The black magnetic strip on the back of your Cardinal Card holds purses which contain coded information. It allows access to accounts and information specifically assigned to you (meal plan account, bookstore, library book checkout, and residence hall access).
  
  The strip can also be used to store extra money for vending (munch money) and laundry. If you have a credit balance on your student account purse, you can move the money to the bookstore or munch purse. The Business Office can place the credit on your designated purse for you to use to purchase your textbooks and supplies in the bookstore or to get munchies or do laundry. Stop by the Business Office (8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) or phone 614-823-1150 for more information on this option.

• What should I do if my card is lost or stolen?

  IMMEDIATELY report your lost or stolen Cardinal Card to the Campus Center Office (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.) or to the Security Office after hours.
  
  Any value on the card runs the risk of being used by the finder. Report your card being lost or stolen IMMEDIATELY so your card can be deactivated.
  
  Replacement cards can be obtained in the Campus Center during business hours. A temporary card will be made available until a replacement card is made. There is a $10 replacement fee charged each time the card is replaced whether lost or stolen. Transfer of the current stored value on the card at deactivation, of $5 or more will be issued.

• What if I find someone else's card?

  If you find someone else's card, be sure to return it to the Campus Center Office, or call 823-3202. Attempting to use the lost and/or stolen card for any purpose will be considered theft.

• What if someone wants to borrow my card?

  Rights and privileges associated with the card are non-transferable. Do not lend your card to a friend or give them any numbers associated with your card. You are held accountable for all financial and business transactions conducted with your Cardinal Card.

• How do I take care of my card?

  Follow these steps to keep your Cardinal Card in good working order:

  • DO keep your Cardinal Card in a secure place.
  • DO keep your Cardinal Card in a holder that will protect it. They can be purchased in the OC Bookstore. It even acts as a key ring so you'll always have it on hand!
  • DO NOT let the magnetic strip of your Cardinal Card rub against other magnetic strips. It might cause damage to both strips.
  • DO NOT lay your Cardinal Card on computers, VCR's or televisions. This may demagnetize the magnetic strip on the card and the card will need to be replaced.
  • DO NOT bend or punch holes in your Cardinal Card.
