Account Management and Activation
Account Activation : Follow Written Instruction in Three Steps Below
1. Activate Your Network Account
Go to the new user page. Type in your Otterbein ID and your 8-digit activation code. Follow the on-screen instructions to create a unique password for your network/O-Zone account. Once you activate your account, don't forget your password!
Information Technology will never ask you to share your password.
2. Activate your Google Apps/Gmail Account
Logon to My Ozone with your newly activated network account by typing in your username (e.g. jane.doe for students) or (e.g. jdoe for faculty/staff). Then type in your unique password you just created. Once logged into O-Zone, click on the E-mail link in the upper right corner. On the Google logon page, type in your username. The first time logon password is your Otterbein ID without the preceding "A." You will be prompted to create a unique password. A good tip is to make your Google password the same as your network password so you only have to remember one Otterbein password!
3. Logon to Self Service Banner and Create a Security Question
Access to Self Service Banner can be obtained through the Ozone link located in the upper right corner of your Ozone login page. If you need your banner pin please contact Human Resources. Human Resources will walk you through the changing your pin process. Please be sure to fill out a security question on your first logon. If you do not create this question now and later forget your pin, you cannot retrieve your pin or create a question without knowing your pin first!

Setting up your myPassword profile
Information Technology is excited to finalize the work on a password self-management system called myPassword. Otterbein Users can setup their myPassword profile in advance using the myPassword tab in My Ozone. Setting up a recovery profile is as easy as creating a few custom questions. Once the myPassword system goes live you will be able to reset your password by answering your custom questions!
In the meantime, if you have forgotten your password see the section below on forgotten passwords.
If you've forgotten your password, you must call the help desk to have it reset. If you are a student call the Student Computing Manager at 823-1885; if you are faculty or staff, call 823-1747.
We will confirm your identity and then reset your password to your Otterbein ID without the preceeding "A". Otterbein ID is found on your Cardinal Card and on your Otternet page. Otternet page is found in the A-Z index after logging on to O-Zone. (Cannot logon to get ID if you forgot your network password!)
Please note: The Help Desk can only reset passwords between the hours of 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (8:30 am to 4:00 pm in the summer).
If you know your network password, you can change it here.
If you know your Gmail password, logon to your inbox and you can change it by clicking on the drop down menu next to your username in the upper right corner (email@example.com), select "Account", then "Security".
