• Alpha Epsilon Delta (AED) - National Pre-Med Honorary

  Alpha Epsilon Delta is a national premedical honor society whose function is to support those students who are considering careers in health related fields through the processes of building an appropriate curriculum, vitae, applying to postgraduate schools, and preparing for interviews. All students who are in good standing with the college and have a cumulative and science GPA of 3.0 are eligible to apply in their sophomore year. Meetings and other activities are held approximately monthly, but community outreach involvement may take additional time.

• Alpha Lambda Delta /Phi Eta Sigma

  Alpha Lambda Delta/Phi Eta Sigma are national academic honorary societies for students who have achieved at least a 3.5 GPA and are in the top 20 percent of their class in their first year of college. Eligible students are invited to lifetime membership in Otterbein's merged chapter after fall semester of their freshman year. Members who continue to maintain high academic standing are eligible for various awards and scholarships, including fellowships for graduate study. The honorary society members may participate in a variety of community service and membership events.

• Delta Omicron

  Delta Omicron is an international honorary for men and women pursuing the discipline of music in college. Members must be at least sophomores, and are chosen on the basis of academic and musical achievement. Delta Omicron carries out educational and service activities.

• Kappa Delta Pi

  Kappa Delta Pi is an international honor society in education. It is committed to recognizing excellence and forstering mutual cooperation, support and professional growth for educational professionals. Students in their sophomore year or above who meet academic, service, leadership and professionalism criteria are invited to join.

• Lambda Pi Eta

  Otterbein University Department of Communication's Lambda Pi Eta Chapter is named Iota. To be inducted into this national communication honorary a student must be of junior standing with a minimum 3.5 GPA. Scholarship and service are hallmarks of this honary.

• Mortar Board (Senior Leadership/Service Honor Society)

  Mortar Board is the senior men's and women's leadership/service honor society. The group fosters the qualities of selfless service and leadership and the improvement of our college community. To become a member, students must have a 3.2 or higher GPA and have demonstrated and committed him/herself to continue distinguished scholarship, leadership and service to the college community.

• Order of Omega

  Order of Omega is a national leadership honor society recognizing academic achievement, Greek leadership, and service to the campus community. Members must have at least 3.0 GPA and junior or senior status. The purpose of this organization is to recognize individuals in the Greek community who have shown exemplary service to their chapter, the Greek community and Otterbein University.

• Phi Alpha Theta

  Phi Alpha Theta is a national history honorary open to any student with 15 hours in history and a 3.1 GPA. Otterbein's Beta Zeta chapter also has a local membership for students that do not meet the national requirements.

• Pi Kappa Delta

  Pi Kappa Delta is a national honary for students who participate in forensic and communication activities. Students prepare for and attend speech and debate tournaments or participate in communication activities qualifying them for membership.

• Phi Sigma Alpha - Alpha Gamma Kappa Chapter

  This honorary organization is designed to foster an environment of friendly debate among members from all political affiliations. It promotes a better understanding of government among its members.through seminars, conferences, research, discussion groups and publications.

• Phi Sigma Iota

  Phi Sigma Iota is the National Honorary Romance Language and Literature Society. Its purpose is to foster the appreciation and study of all foreign languages and their respective literature and culture.

• Pinnacle

  This is an honorary organization for Continuing Studies students with junior status and a 3.5 GPA.

• Psi Chi and Psychology Psymposium

  Psi Chi is an invitation only honor society. Psi Chi sponsors the Psych Psymposium speaker series and plans other activities relevant to psychology and to applying for graduate school. Psi Chi also sponsors national and regional under-graduate and graduate research award programs, and publishes a quarterly national newsletter to inform members of Psi Chi's opportunities at all levels. Psych Psymposium is a speaker series that introduces students to various fields of psychology through guest speakers and also to informs students about research opportunities with the faculty.

• Torch and Key

  Torch and Key is an honorary organization for the recognition of distinctive achievement in general scholarship. Seniors and juniors with exceptional cumulative records are elected (3.7 GPA).
