Favorite Spot on Campus

I enjoy spending time in the piano practice rooms because music is one of my hobbies that I don't want to let go of but also don't have the time to fit in a class. When you walk down the practice room hallway, you can hear all kinds of scales and songs being played. The diversity in taste is fantastic! I love it!

Why I Chose Otterbein

I chose Otterbein because of the warm, welcoming, small-town feel that I received when I visited. Otterbein's location was perfect for me being 20 minutes outside of Columbus allowing for the best internship opportunities.

Something I've Learned About Myself as an Otterbein Student

I hadn't planned on being so active on campus this early into my Otterbein career, but I couldn't stand being out of the action! I'm now the Community Service chair of my fraternity and manager of the Otterbein's Men's soccer team along with my position on the SOAR team.

Why I Chose Otterbein

I didn't choose Otterbein. Otterbein chose me. The people were friendly, the campus was close to home, and the Early Assurance Program with guaranteed acceptance into Ohio University's Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine was too good to pass up. I had no reservations.

Something I've Learned About Myself as an Otterbein Student

I have learned that it is okay to be who you are, without apologies. I am proud of the person I have become, and even if I change, I know that it is okay. The students at Otterbein are accepting of everyone, and I found it easy to find friends and other people that I relate to here on campus.

Most Memorable Experience So Far

One of my most memorable experiences at Otterbein so far has been competing with Ottertuned at ICCA's (International Championship of Collegiate A Capella). Performing with them, at any point, has truly been one of the most exciting things about being here at Otterbein.

Favorite Spot On Campus

There's this spot in the campus library on the second floor that has a single chair and a small table that's tucked away behind newspaper shelves and a table full of plants. It's a great place to be able to get away and do your work on your own.

My Most Memorable Experience So Far

Being on the OTTERTHON Executive board. (OTTERTHON is our annual dance marathon that we do for Nationwide Children's hospital) But getting to meet our Miracle Families and getting to know their stories is the best part. Definitely a highlight of my time here at Otterbein.

My Most Memorable Otterbein Experience So Far

So far my most exciting moment at Otterbein has been becoming a part of the WOBN radio family! I entered the year timid and scared as well as thinking that radio wasn't really for me, but I ended up falling in love with it. I remember thinking, All I want to do is write. Why do I have to take a radio class? But boy am I glad that I did! The staff was so endearing and willing to help that I couldn't help by fall in love with radio. Now I'm the music director and I couldn't be happier!

Favorite Spot On Campus

The Campus Center. It's not the place I'm at most often, but it's a place to go and relax with friends, or even meet new people. Many of the friends I've made thus far I've met at the Campus Center. There is almost always someone in the campus center, and it has a lot of advertisements for things to do on campus as well.

Advice

Be yourself and step out of your comfort zone. People will either like you or they won’t, but trying to change who you are to please others is never the answer. In addition, try new things. Join a club or other student organization and branch out. Don't be afraid of what others will think

My Favorite Spot On Campus

My favorite spot on campus is easily the science building. Not only are the budgies, the aquarium and the green house there, but the building itself is great. The labs and science classes fit so well into such a pretty building that it seems to make so much sense to me.
