What did you study at Otterbein?
I studied studio art with concentrations in photography and graphic design.
Where are you now?
I am a full time photographer now, mostly photographing weddings, and senior portraits. A typical day now is working on whatever shoot I am editing, planning shoots, answering messages, social media, etc!
What is a typical day on the job or in the studio like?
Pretty much whatever needs to be done as a CEO, there’s a lot more to the day to day that feels random, but I love it!
How did Otterbein, and/or the Art and Art History Department, help prepare you for your job? How did your education help you succeed?
The first wedding I got to shoot was because one of my classmates at Otterbein already was a wedding photographer, and she had asked me to help her. This experience introduced me to so many resources, and people that have helped me further in my career.
My education started with my very first major class, working with film and using the dark room, it forced me to learn the very basics of photography, and camera function, something that a lot of people in my industry don’t actually know about!
