Margery Fisher Murphy, Class of 1993

Margery Fisher Murphy MAE’93 died September 11, 2019. Margery was born May 16, 1942 in Xenia, Ohio to the late Zbulon and Elizabeth (Weingart) Fisher.
Margery graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She taught at Robert Frost Elementary in Westerville in the late 1970’s. She then attended Otterbein University and obtained a Master’s of Art in Education degree in 1993.

She was actively involved in all aspects of the education system and served as a longtime representative to the Westerville Education Association (WEA), holding positions of Secretary and Vice President, and the National Education Association (NEA). Margery shared her love of learning for over 30 years with the children of Westerville before retiring.

Margery was preceded in death by her youngest son Jeffrey Andrew on January 15, 2013. Margery will be deeply missed by her husband of 56 years, Stanley Henderson Murphy; son Gregory, daughter-in-law Jani, granddaughter Delaney Mae, and grandson Grayson; son Sean Michael and son-in-law George Louis Hofferbert; son-in-law Cliff Lavender.
