Dr. Mina Makary’s strong fundamental character guides all his actions as a Vascular and Interventional Radiologist and Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. Mina is determined to make an impact, shaping not just his own field of Radiology, but also for the entire Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, for state societies, and even for national societies as well. Mina has over 40 published manuscripts, three book chapters, and more publications on the way. Mina has served as a mentor to countless medical students interested in pursuing a career in radiology, especially those interested in Interventional Radiology. He has involved students in research projects, and has an incredibly successful record, having published nine papers in the past year alone. He has been an outspoken advocate for resident training and clinical service. Further, he has held leadership positions outside the department, including national committees. Mina not only excels in research and teaching, but he has the mindset to skillfully navigate difficult situations, and the interpersonal skills to make it all work, ultimately resulting in high quality, prompt care of the patients who are in his care. He is, simultaneously the ambassador to the referring physician, advocate for the patient, and role model as a physician. He is a recent recipient of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Housestaff Citizenship Award, a tribute to his unfailing commitment to caring for the patients.
