Evelyn Mujais Mitchell ’54 died April 29, 2022. Born April 21, 1932 to the late Joseph and Alya Mujais. Evelyn, a proud graduate of McKinley High School and Otterbein College where she played basketball, softball, field hockey, volleyball and was in the Tau Delta (Deltas) sorority.
She had a long career as an educator, first teaching physical education and coaching basketball at both Dover and McKinley High Schools and later as the Principal of Christian Ministries Day School from 1972 until it closed in 2001. Evelyn has also served on the Board of Elders at Christian Ministries Church for over 50 years as well as the Secretary/Treasurer of International Ministerial Association from its inception in 1986 until she had to retire for health reasons in 2017.
Evelyn is survived by two sons and their wives: Paul (Amy) and Jonathan (Shirley); six grandchildren: Sarah, Daniel (Erin), Kaytlan (Kyle), Joseph (Sara), Benjamin, and Jesse.; great-grandchildren Warren, Adeline and Vaughn! She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George B. Mitchell; her brothers, Jimmie Mujais and Samuel Marshall; and her sisters, Lulu McCauley and Dorothy Kerstetter.
