Gerald Koster ’50 died Oct. 29, 2015. He was a veteran of World War II serving as a chaplain’s assistant in hospitals and he was a chaplain with the Ohio Military Reserve. He pastored nine churches over 72 years: the Brethren in Christ Church, the Evangelical United Brethren and the United Methodist Church. After retirement, he served the Hungarian Reformed Church and Sugar Creek American Baptist Church as temporary clergy, and returned to serve the United Methodist Church in Orient, OH, at the age of 77. He was preceded in death by his wife, Echo. He is survived by a daughter and a granddaughter.
