James Fraher, Class of 1970

James Fraher ’70 died Dec. 11, 2021. He was born on March 30, 1948 to the late James and Leokadia (Lucy) Fraher in Frankfurt, Germany. Jim earned his bachelor’s degree from Otterbein University where he was involved in ROTC, Zeta Phi fraternity, and most every sport available. He earned his commission in the United States Air Force and served from 1971 through 1973. He then transferred to the Air Reserves and achieved the rank of Major before retiring in 1994. Jim enjoyed much success in his career as a salesman for Appleton Paper and Xpedx, and as Vice President of Sales for Carpenter Paper Company. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Parish and the Knights of Columbus. Jim is survived by his wife Karen Pence Fraher; children, Kristen Thome, Kerri Jensen (Shawn), Katherine Fraher, and Jonathan Fraher; grandchildren, Isiah Sims, Jamisen Thome, Jonathan Thome, Annabelle Fraher, Ryan Jensen, and Alivia Jensen; brothers, Richard Fraher (Molly) and Frank Fraher (Tracie).
