Nancy Rutter Morrow, Class of 1961

Nancy Morrow ’61 died Aug. 25, 2021. She was born on Dec. 12, 1938 in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey to the late Joseph and Lorraine Rutter. She spent her younger years as a cheerleader, lifeguard, and thespian. She earned her bachelor’s degree in both Theatre and Education and during her time at Otterbein, Nancy was involved in the Theta Alpha Phi honors drama organization and Epsilon Kappa Tau sorority.
Nancy then met her late husband Daniel Morrow when she moved to North Canton for her first teaching job as a High School English teacher and drama coach. Nancy was a talented artist, book editor, choral singer and was generous throughout her life with her love and possessions. Over her marriage of 42 years she lived in Medina, Ohio and Hilton Head, South Carolina before settling in Wooster, Ohio in 2006.
Nancy is preceded in death by her husband Dan Morrow, sister Connie Walsh, and grandson Justice Machacek. She is survived by her four daughters Wendy Smith (Mark), Dana Bonezzi (Frank), Jennifer Tobergte (Joe), and Kylie Machacek (Brandon). She is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Justin and Marla Smith; Jessica, Elise, Ethan and Alyson Bonezzi; Emory and Evlin Tobergte; Judah, Carolina, and Haven Machacek.
