Department of Communication
Dr. Eric Jones currently serves as the Chair of the Communication Department. He is an associate professor of journalism; teaching audio production, sports communication, and media diversity. He is also the advisor for WOBN FM, the FCC-licensed campus radio station operated by Otterbein students. In addition, he serves as a volunteer with the Simba Advisory Committee, a mentoring organization at the Ohio Franklin County Children Services agency. He has served as a mentor to numerous young boys and has given presentations on social media literacy and self-esteem. Moreover, he is dedicated to helping students prepare for today’s technologically driven media workplace. Through his teaching and advising activities, he encourages students to develop strong media literacy habits, active community service records, and fundamentally sound communication skills.
