Department of Communication
Dr. Eric Jones currently serves as the Chair of the Communication Department. He is a professor of communication; teaching radio and audio production, sports communication, and media diversity. He is also the advisor for WOBN FM, the FCC-licensed campus radio station operated by Otterbein students. His research centers on the scholarship of teaching and learning where he focuses on media literacy. In addition, he serves as a volunteer with the Simba Advisory Committee, a mentoring organization at the Ohio Franklin County Children Services agency. He has served as a mentor to numerous young boys and has given presentations on social media literacy and self-esteem. Moreover, he is dedicated to helping students prepare for today’s technologically driven media workplace.
