“As an accounting controller intern, my responsibilities were to communicate efficiently and effectively, complete tasks on time and to ask questions if I was ever unsure. I have learned that surrounding myself with people that are smarter and more advanced in their positions can help me increase my own knowledge and push me to be a better version of myself.”
I was placed in an accounting controller role for the summer and was given one large summer project to carry out. I was assisting a colleague of mine on my immediate team as we carried out regulatory reporting. My responsibilities were to communicate efficiently and effectively to complete tasks on time and to ask questions if I was every unsure on something. The biggest thing that I learned this summer is how willing your peers are to help you succeed, all you have to do is be open and ask for help. I have learned that being surrounded by people smarter and more advanced in their positions than me has raised my own knowledge and pushed me to be a better version of myself.
