Greg began his career at Nationwide in 2001 and has served in several Business and Finance leadership roles. Prior to his retirement in July 2024, Greg served as Senior Vice President & Chief Audit Executive and was responsible for overseeing Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company’s Office of Internal Audit, a diversified financial services Fortune 100 company with assets in excess of $295 billion. In this role, Greg reported to Nationwide’s Board of Directors and was responsible for reviewing and communicating the results of internal audit work and served as a business partner and strategic advisor on various business and risk cabinets. Greg previously held the positions of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Exclusive Channel Property & Casualty Operations and Vice President, Product Management where he managed Nationwide Financial’s Fixed and Offshore Annuities.

Greg’s background prior to joining Nationwide included six years at The Midland Life Insurance Company/Swiss Reinsurance where he held several roles including Vice President Strategic Planning, Vice President Operations and Controller. Greg began his career with Ernst & Young in 1984 where he spent 11 years and was a Senior Manager in the Insurance and Financial Services practice group directing and managing assurance and advisory services.

Greg is a graduate of The Ohio State University, a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, Fellow in the Life Management Institute and has received his Certification in Risk Management Assurance. Greg has served as a community member of The Columbus City Schools Audit and Accountability Committee and Chair of the Institute of Internal Audit’s (IIA) International Exam Development Committee. Greg currently serves as both a Board member and Administration and Finance Committee Chair for Lutheran Social Services and is a member of the Board of Trustees for Otterbein University. Greg has also been a frequent guest lecturer on internal audit and risk management for numerous colleges and universities and as a speaker at several IIA conferences and events.
