Simon Lawrance, Ph.D., is a professor emeritus of biology and earth science and the program in biochemistry and molecular biology. His training is in molecular genetics and immunology. He is interested in immunogenetics as it applies to autoimmune disease and conservation biology. His ongoing research projects include the genetic basis of systemic lupus erythematosus and the conservation of African penguins.
