On-Campus Visits
Otterbein Overview and Tour
Your visit includes a 30-minute presentation by an Admission Counselor and a campus tour led by a student tour guide. When school is in session, these visits are offered at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. During summer, they are offered at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Your visit will only include a campus tour led by a student tour guide. These tours are offered at 12:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Austin E. Knowlton Equine Center Tour
Your visit will include a one-hour tour of the Austin E. Knowlton Equine Center led by equine barn staff. These sessions are offered at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Undergraduate Nursing Tour
Find out what makes Otterbein University’s undergraduate Nursing program so special! Our tour begins with an overview of the BSN nursing program. Prospective students will have a chance to learn about the program curriculum and view a sample plan of study. From there, prospective students will visit the innovative Nursing and Simulation Laboratories and observe first-hand the state-of-the-art equipment utilized in our labs.
Athletics Visits & Appointments with Faculty
Athletic Visits
This session is geared towards students interested in playing a sport at Otterbein. A coach will lead a 15-minute presentation followed by a tour of campus. To register, please reach out to the coaching staff for the sport you are interested in. Information can be found at www.otterbeincardinals.com.
Faculty Appointment
Faculty in your academic area are available to answer your questions through In-Person or Virtual Experiences . Appointments are also available with the Office of Disability Services/Academic Support Center, and Undecided advisor, and ROTC. Come discuss our Guaranteed Admission programs, along with any additional questions you might have! These sessions are available every Tuesday throughout the semester.

Group Tours
Otterbein University Group Visit Policy
Otterbein University welcomes chaperoned groups of 10 to 40 to visit campus during the academic school year. The information presented below is a guide for chaperones and tour organizers. Tour group appointments will consist of an admissions presentation and a campus tour as outlined below.
Admissions Presentation
Join an Otterbein admissions representative for a formal presentation about Otterbein University including campus life, academics, admission requirements, scholarship, and financial aid. Time will be available for general questions.
Campus Tour
A current Otterbein University student will lead the group on a tour of campus. The tour will include prominent buildings and resources on campus and lasts approximately 75 minutes.
Scheduling
- Group Visits will be offered in the following months: September, October, November, February, March and April. We are not able to accommodate large group visits during the months of June through Mid-August.
- Groups must consist of at least 10 students, 9th through 12th grade.
- To arrange a visit, complete the request form below. At least two (2) weeks of advance notice is required.
- Groups consisting of students in the 9th grade or older are welcome to campus. We expect a ratio of at least 1 chaperone for every 10 students. A chaperone is required to accompany each tour group. Group sizes are limited to 40 students total.
- Parking is off campus.
- Please be on-time for your visit – we cannot guarantee the full Otterbein experience you have scheduled if your group does not arrive on time.
- We are able to accommodate one group per day – please have alternate date(s) in mind when completing the request form.
Special Requests
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate special visit requests including:
- Meals
- Special facility tours
- Overnight accommodations – Transportation to and/or from campus
Otterbein does not provide lunch but if you wish to eat on campus, please let us know and we will connect you to catering.
Confirmation
Once your visit date is approved, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the group organizer including locations, directions, and parking instructions to be shared with the group.

Middle School and Elementary Schools
Thank you for the opportunity to introduce our campus to your students at such an early age. Currently, we do not offer guided tours for elementary or middle school groups.
We would like to encourage students and their parents to visit again during high school for a more personal, detailed visit to campus. At that time you will be given the full tour of campus which includes the parts that are omitted during a group visit.

Directions to Campus:
From the NORTH, take I-71 south to Gemini Place/IKEA Way/Exit 121. At the exit, turn left on Gemini Place, which becomes IKEA Way, then Worthington Road. Travel 1.5 miles. Turn right on Africa Road, which becomes West Street. Travel approximately 1.5 miles on Africa Road/West Street. Turn left on Main Street, travel .2 miles.
From the SOUTH on I-71, Route 315, or Route 23, take I-270 East (Wheeling) on the North side of Columbus. Follow I-270 to OH-3 north (exit 29) toward Westerville. Travel 2 miles and turn left on College Avenue. Travel .2 miles.
From the EAST or WEST on I-70, take I-270 North toward Cleveland. Travel 8 miles on I-270 and exit on OH-3 north (exit 29) toward Westerville. Travel 2 miles and turn left on College Avenue. Travel .2 miles.
By bus: Columbus is served by Greyhound Bus Lines. For information call (614) 221-2389.
By air: If you are flying, most major airlines service Columbus. The nearest major airport is Port Columbus International Airport, approximately 15 minutes from Westerville.
Visitor Parking Information
Visitors must contact the Police Department to obtain a visitor parking permit. The Police Department can be contacted in person at 194 West Main Street, by phone at 614-823-1222, or by e-mail at police@otterbein.edu. The visitor parking permit can be picked up in person during regular business hours, or e-mailed to an address provided.
Visitors may park in the Campus Center West Parking Lot, the Cowan Hall Parking Lot, the Psychology House Parking Lot, Davis Hall Parking Lot, 25 West Home Street Parking Lot, the Arts and Communication Building Parking Lot, and the Collegeview Center Parking Lot.
Citations issued for unregistered vehicles should be returned to the Otterbein University Police Department. They should be signed and dated by the visitor, explaining the situation. However, any citations issued for parking in fire lanes, handicapped spaces or otherwise illegal parking will be charged to that person.
